Tim Herbert

Vice President, Research

Tim HerbertTim Herbert currently serves as vice president of research for CompTIA. He directs research studies and analysis to promote the growth of the IT industry and studies business trends to “connect the dots” and make sense of the ever changing technology landscape. Mr. Herbert regularly pens articles for industry publications, presents at industry conferences and has been cited in numerous media outlets, including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune and the Wall Street Journal.

Prior to joining CompTIA, Mr. Herbert directed the market research department of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). During his nearly 13-year tenure with CEA, he helped build a world class research function, renowned for its innovative use of research methodologies and analysis techniques to produce game changing research for the consumer technology industry. Most notably, he took CEA market research international by producing a worldwide electronics sales forecast and spearheading studies on consumers in the BRIC countries, the Middle East and more.

Mr. Herbert holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from John Carroll University and an MBA from George Mason University.
