Mike Semel is vice president and CSO of Business Continuity Technologies. He is recognized throughout the IT industry as an expert in business continuity, compliance, and security. He has helped school districts qualify for millions of dollars in federal E-rate dollars; worked with district administrators and business executives to get the most from their IT investments; managed projects to finish on time and on budget; and helped businesses of all sizes—including a $4 billion credit union with 180,000 members—create meaningful business continuity plans.

Semel is one of only 2500 Certified Business Continuity Professionals worldwide, and is also a Certified HIPAA Administrator. He was the director of IT at a hospital and has been the outsourced CIO for school districts and businesses.

Prior to joining BCT, Semel led a Red Cross chapter disaster program; served as a fire department officer; taught hazardous materials incident response at the New York State Fire Academy; worked on the IndyCar Safety Team; and owned his own computer business. He is a proud member of the FBI's Infragard program, and an ASCII Group Resident Expert.
