Don Bentz

Don Bentz founded Preferred IT Group, LLC in August 2005 with Jason Horne. The vision for Preferred IT Group grew from Bentz's experience with a variety of technology companies, focusing on customer service, sales engineering, and technical operations.

Bentz serves on the Tech Advisory Committee for ASCII Group and is active in the ConnectWise and Heartland Technology Group (HTG) communities. He has won multiple Partner of the Year awards for his participation in HTG Group 14. He has also been named to the SMB Nation list of "Most Influential People in the SMB Channel."

Prior to co-founding Preferred IT Group, Bentz served 19 years as a volunteer Advanced EMT with Whitley County and Jay County EMS. He was a founding member of Whitley County Community Internet system, serving as Network Operations Director and Vice President. He is also a member of the local Elks 1417 club.

Bentz holds an Associate of Science degree in electronics technology with a minor in broadcast technology from Vincennes University. A native of Portland, Indiana, he now resides in Columbia City, Indiana.
