First Annual Creating Futures Charity Miniature Golf Classic Set for April in Chicago
IT Charity Event Adds Entertainment and Networking for CompTIA Members
Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., January 12, 2010 - The CompTIA Educational Foundation announces its First Annual Creating Futures Charity Miniature Golf Classic, which will take place during the Opening Reception of CompTIA’s Member Meeting on April 7 at Swissotel in Chicago, Ill.
CompTIA hosts its first Annual Member Meeting this April. Members from all of CompTIA’s communities will be there to participate in industry discussions. The sole branding opportunity for companies at this new conference is to sponsor the Miniature Golf Classic. All sponsorship proceeds will go to fund information technology (IT) training for individuals in need.
“The Creating Futures Charity Miniature Golf Classic provides an informal way for companies to spend time with customers, partners and friends,” said John Venator, president and CEO of the CompTIA Educational Foundation. “I urge industry professionals to join in the fun and get great exposure for your company at the same time.”
Charity event sponsors will secure networking time with their key partners in an entertaining environment, reap extra exposure to CompTIA members and the media through event marketing, help individuals in need achieve rewarding life-long IT careers, and meet their philanthropic goals, while gaining a great tax benefit.
The Foundation provides career opportunities to groups of people historically under-represented in the IT industry, including U.S. military veterans, individuals with disabilities, minorities, women, at-risk youth and dislocated workers. The program works with employers to identify their hiring needs, then tailors education and training programs to help individuals obtain the skills the employers are looking for to enable them to secure IT careers. Last year, the Foundation helped 825 individuals in need receive IT training.
Golf sponsorships range from $1,500 to $10,000 depending on the benefit package. All sponsorships include an opportunity to match shots with a professional miniature golfer, recognition on the Foundation and Member Meeting Web sites and event marketing materials, and usage of the Foundation logo on the sponsor’s Web site as a proud supporter. To double their brand exposure and networking time, companies can sign up to be a joint sponsor of the Foundation’s charity golf events at both CompTIA’s April Member Meeting and August Breakaway Conference for only $3,000.
The charity sponsorships also are integrated into CompTIA’s Annual Sponsorship Program that helps companies stay in front of the IT channel throughout 2010. Companies can leverage their vendor membership in CompTIA by adding on high-value, low-cost sponsorship opportunities to extend their brand, company profile and product offerings.
